Already Have an Over-65 or Disabled Person Exemption?
That's great — your tax ceiling under Texas Tax Code Section 11.13(c) or (d) already provides significant protection by freezing most of your property taxes, including all school district taxes. That's a valuable benefit.
However, because the tax ceiling limits the potential savings from a protest, a $99 minimum fee applies at enrollment for these properties. This fee is non-refundable and covers the cost of representing your property.
How it works with your contingency fee:
- If your 22% contingency fee exceeds $99 — the $99 is credited toward it
- If your contingency fee is less than $99 — no additional charge
- You never pay both — just the greater of the two
How Your Fee Is Calculated
Your fee is based on your actual Tax Savings — the real dollar reduction in your property tax bill. Here's the formula:
Tax Savings1 = (Original Appraised Value - Final Reduced Value) x Your Tax Rate
DomuTax Fee = Tax Savings x 22%
